Meet the Team Behind My Better Books
We’re not a revolving door of junior staff who don’t know your name. My Better Books is a small, experienced team that gets to know your business — and stays with you as it grows. Every person here was chosen because they believe the same thing: hard work deserves better numbers.

Laura Oliver
CEO & Founder
Laura started My Better Books because she kept seeing the same problem — hardworking business owners with unclear, overwhelming, or just plain messy financials. Not because they weren’t capable, but because nobody had built them the right systems.
With over Seven years of professional bookkeeping experience and more than a decade of running and supporting businesses, Laura brings both the technical skills and the real-world perspective that small business owners actually need. She has worked across salons, restaurants, service businesses, and has deep expertise in construction and disaster restoration bookkeeping — industries where job costing and cash flow aren’t optional.
Laura is QuickBooks and Xero certified and a proud member of CPB Canada. Her goal with every client is the same: give you clarity, confidence, and control over your numbers — without the corporate jargon.

A Message from the Founder
I started My Better Books because I saw too many hardworking business owners struggling with financials that weren’t working for them. They weren’t failing — they just didn’t have the right systems or the right support behind their numbers.
Bookkeeping shouldn’t feel overwhelming or disconnected from your day-to-day. It should give you clarity, help you make smarter decisions, and support the growth you’re working so hard to build.
At My Better Books, we do more than reconcile accounts. We build financial systems that work as hard as you do — with clear communication, practical insight, and no corporate jargon. You focus on building your business. We’ll make sure your books are built right behind it.
Let’s Build Better Books ®
Yvonne Beaudet
Client Accounts Manager
Yvonne has one focus: making sure your books are exactly what your accountant needs — so you’re not paying CPA rates to fix bookkeeping errors at year-end.
With over 25 years of bookkeeping experience and 15 years working inside public accounting firms, Yvonne knows precisely what clean, accountant-ready books look like — because she spent years on the other side preparing year-end financials and corporate tax files for CPA review.
She has worked with medical practices, real estate professionals, restaurants, retailers, home builders, and contractors. Whatever your industry, Yvonne brings the kind of detail-oriented, reliable oversight that keeps your books accurate, organized, and ready to support better decisions all year long — not just in April.

Lori Brewer
Senior Accounting Technician
When your books need to be right — not just close — Lori is who you want on your file.
Lori brings decades of accounting experience built across public accounting firms, supervisory roles, and industry. She spent nearly 14 years as a Staff Accountant at Bailey Kearney Ferguson LLP, preparing financial statements, working papers, corporate tax returns, and year-end files for corporate and not-for-profit clients. She knows what accountants expect and how to build records that meet that standard — efficiently and accurately.
Her technical depth spans financial reporting, payroll, staff training, and extensive work with QuickBooks Online, CaseWare, and Caseview. For our clients, that means confidence that the numbers are right and the records will hold up under scrutiny.
Kayliegh MacLachlan
Administrative Support & Bookkeeping Assistant
Kayliegh is the person who makes sure nothing falls through the cracks.

She holds an Ontario College Diploma in Office Administration — Executive from Lambton College and has built her career supporting fast-paced teams across Sarnia with accuracy and a client-first approach.
For our clients, Kayliegh’s work means your data is entered correctly, your files are organized, and the day-to-day details are handled — so nothing gets missed.
